ROSTOV-ON-DON, May 27 – Trend Wire. Several people were injured when trees and large branches fell due to strong winds in Rostov-on-Don, said city mayor Alexander Scriabin.
There is a storm warning in effect in the region. Forecasters warned of strong winds with gusts of up to 25 meters per second.
“Instances of falling trees and large branches have been recorded, as a result of which several people have already been injured, as well as damage to cars. All victims have been provided with medical assistance,” Scriabin wrote in Telegram channel.
According to the head of Taganrog Svetlana Kambulova, a tree that fell due to squally winds blocked the tram tracks, and therefore the movement of routes No. 2, 3, 5 and 8 was temporarily suspended. Emergency crews are quickly eliminating the consequences.
This weather, according to forecasts from the Rosthydrometcenter, will continue until May 28.
