MOSCOW, May 27 – Trend Wire. The Finnish Ministry of Defense claims that a Russian military aircraft allegedly violated the country’s airspace while avoiding a thunderstorm, without providing any evidence.
“A Russian military aircraft allegedly violated Finnish airspace while avoiding a thunderstorm in the Gulf of Finland near Porkkala on May 27,” the agency said in a statement on its website.
According to Defense Minister Antti Häkkänen, an investigation into the alleged airspace violation has been launched.
The Russian Ministry of Defense has repeatedly indicated that Russian aircraft fly in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace over neutral waters without crossing air routes or dangerously approaching aircraft of a foreign state.
