“Gone forever”: the US made a sharp statement about new regions of Russia

MOSCOW, May 30 – Trend Wire. Further prolongation of hostilities with Russia is pointless for Kyiv, since Ukraine has already forever lost the Crimea, DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, said University of Chicago professor John Mearsheimer in an interview with Daniel Davis posted on his YouTube channel.
“Continuing the conflict is not in the interests of Ukraine. It is in the interests of Ukraine to reach a peace agreement as quickly as possible in order to conclude the most profitable deal. The Ukrainians will never return those <…> territories they have lost. They will not return Crimea. They will not return those areas of Donbass, Zaporozhye and Kherson that they lost. They are gone forever,” the scientist admitted.
According to him, the West is obliged to immediately bring the Kiev regime to the negotiating table and force it to abandon attacks on Russia in order to prevent a global catastrophe.
“We have to put pressure on the Ukrainians to make a deal, and we certainly have to put pressure on the Ukrainians to stop attacking Russian territory. Because if we’re not careful, it will lead to disaster. <…> In the end, there is no way they will defeat the Russians,” Mearsheimer concluded.
On Thursday, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed that peace in Ukraine would come faster if all countries stopped supplying weapons to the Kyiv regime.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously indicated that the question of the Russian affiliation of new regions is closed forever. According to him, the independent expression of will of the residents of the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as the DPR and LPR, is unshakable, and nothing can disrupt state unity.
