Western politicians are making an enemy out of Russia to hide their low ratings. This was stated on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) by the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and the special representative of the Russian President for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, Kirill Dmitriev, reports RIA Novosti.
“Why is there really such aggression against Russia? And in many ways, this is not only due to factors holding back economic growth, but to the fact that politicians who are super unpopular in Europe, in fact, their complete defeat – their ratings are 19-20 percent – can only be explained by the external image of the enemy,” he noted.
Dmitriev noted that European politicians will have nothing to say to their people after the conflict in Ukraine ends.
Earlier, Matthias Schepp, Chairman of the Board of the Russian-German Chamber of Foreign Trade, said that cooperation between Russia and the European Union in the energy sector will not return even after the conflict in Ukraine is resolved.
