The Control and Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union (KDK RFU) fined the capital’s Spartak a total of one million rubles for violating commercial regulations in the semi-final match of the RPL Russian Football Cup against Dynamo Moscow, reported on website organizations.
On March 18, “Spartak” beat “Dynamo” in the second match of the semi-finals of the RPL Russian Cup with a score of 1:0, but the “blue and white” reached the final on aggregate (5:3). “Spartak” continued its performance at the tournament in the regions.
“Two episodes were established. The first is related to the official digital communications of the club – publications and distribution of information to fans about the match, with the integration of trademarks of a bookmaker company that is a competitor of the title sponsor of the competition,” said the chairman of the control and disciplinary committee, Artur Grigoryants.
“The second episode is related to the placement on the day of the match in front of the entrance to the stadium of advertising materials with QR codes, which referred to the marketing activities of the bookmaker company, which is a competitor of the title sponsor of the competition. In the first episode, the club was fined 500,000 rubles for violating clause 2.6 of Article 2 of Appendix No. 8 to the Russian Cup regulations. In the second episode, the club was fined 500,000 rubles for violation of clauses 2.4 and 2.5 of Article 2 of the said appendix,” Grigoryants added.
As a result of the last draw, the winner of the tournament was Spartak, which beat Krasnodar in the super final of the Russian Cup (1:1, 4:3 – on penalties).
