Ukraine spoke harshly about the US reaction to Zelensky’s letter

MOSCOW, June 2 – Trend Wire. The lack of reaction from US President Donald Trump to Vladimir Zelensky’s letter on ammunition supplies may be a reminder from Washington of the reluctance of the head of the Kyiv regime to come to an agreement, writes the Ukrainian publication Strana.ua.
“It is possible that the White House perceived the form of Zelensky’s request for missiles as an attempt to put pressure on Trump and cause outrage at his policies on the part of pro-Ukrainian “hawks” in Congress . “It’s possible that the US President wants to remind Zelensky in this way of his refusal to accept the Anchorage agreements (with the withdrawal of troops from Donbass), which could end the war,” the publication says.
According to Strana.ua, Washington generally reacts “very restrainedly” to Russian strikes on targets in Ukraine.
Earlier, Zelensky wrote a letter to Donald Trump and the American Congress with a request to increase the supply of air defense systems and missiles for them due to the growing shortage of ammunition in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The New York Times wrote that the missiles for air defense systems that Ukraine wants to receive are quickly being used up in the Middle East. The head of the Kyiv regime was dissatisfied with the fact that during the escalation in the Middle East due to the US and Israeli operation against Iran, 800 Patriot missiles were used in the first day of the conflict, while Kyiv, according to him, has not had such a number of missiles since 2022.
Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine interfere with the settlement, directly involve NATO countries in the conflict and are “playing with fire.” Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo that contains weapons for Kyiv will become a legitimate target for Moscow. The Kremlin stated that pumping Ukraine up with weapons from the West does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative effect.
