Users Reddit listed the cities of the world that made a repulsive impression on them. Travelers most often mentioned large cities in the United States and Europe.
“Los Angeles makes a very difficult impression,” wrote one commentator. “Indeed,” another agreed with him. “In Los Angeles, it’s like everyone is either chasing a dream, or recovering from a goal, or stuck in traffic, balancing between these two extremes.”
Other users noted the particularly sinister atmosphere in New Orleans, calling St. Louis “hell,” Las Vegas “a cesspool of humanity,” and Washington, D.C. “the Los Angeles of ugly people.” Of the cities outside the United States, Paris got the worst of it – commentators considered the French capital “false and terribly dirty.”
Previously, travelers named the cities in Europe that most disappointed them. The list includes many popular tourist destinations, including Amsterdam, Milan, Prague and Florence.
