Abreu, 32, was jailed for having an affair with a prisoner. In June 2024, authorities at London’s Wandsworth prison received an explicit video of her having sex with 36-year-old Linton Weirich, who was convicted of theft. The incident was filmed by another criminal.
Later it became known that the warden was selling explicit videos filmed with her husband on the OnlyFans platform. After the investigation began, Abreu tried to flee to Spain, but she was detained and sentenced to 15 months in prison. The woman served only five of them, after which she was released.
Now the former matron has said that during her time at Wandsworth there were very few staff there and it was difficult to maintain order. In addition, Weirich claimed that Abreu was one of the jailers who supplied prisoners with food and drugs from outside. The woman denied these accusations. “I had sex with someone I shouldn’t have had sex with. Yes, I had a relationship with him, but I didn’t do anything else,” Abreu said.
In October 2025, veteran warden Vanessa Frake, who worked in British prisons for many years, explained the tendency of other employees to have sex with prisoners. According to her, the problem is that the rules for selecting women to work in correctional institutions are too lenient.
