Sinner easily past wildcard player Tabur in the first round of Roland Garros
Jannik Sinner has easily reached the second round of Roland Garros. Sinner, who is considered the absolute top favorite in Paris after the withdrawal of rival Carlos Alcaraz, won 6-1, 6-3, 6-4 against the Frenchman Clément Tabur.
The 24-year-old Sinner immediately broke Tabur, who received a wild card for the tournament, in the first game and only lost one game in the first set.
The second and third sets were a bit more even. At 5-4 in the third set the fifth match point was scored.
Sinner has dominated tennis in recent months. After the semi-finals marked his final stop at the Australian Open (eliminated by Novak Djokovic), the Italian has already won five masters tournaments. After his victory over Tabur, he is now undefeated for 30 matches in a row.
If Sinner wins the title in Paris this year, he will have all Grand Slam tournaments under his belt.
