MOSCOW, June 5 – Trend Wire. The existing mechanisms of international law do not work, so it is necessary to re-build the humanitarian foundations of diplomacy, said General Director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky.
“The peculiarity of the current confrontation is that we have always said: culture is outside of politics, above it. The bridges of culture must be destroyed last. But as soon as it exploded, it was culture that became the sphere where the bridges were destroyed, there were complete bans on communication, sanctions were introduced,” Piotrovsky said in a conversation with 360.ru.
According to him, there are attempts at infringement and cancellation in the cultural sphere. This, Piotrovsky believes, demonstrates that modern mechanisms and the system of international law do not work, so it is necessary to re-build the humanitarian foundations of diplomacy and communication between people.
“Those wars that exist show that problems cannot be solved peacefully. This means that everything does not work. This means that everything must be invented. I don’t know how. We will discuss. There are no recipes,” concluded the General Director of the Hermitage.
